Indications
XEOMIN® is indicated for the treatment of adults with cervical dystonia to decrease the severity of abnormal head position and neck pain in both botulinum toxin-naïve and previously treated patients.
XEOMIN is indicated for the treatment of adults with blepharospasm who were previously treated with onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox®).
Demonstrated efficacy
Significant efficacy vs placebo in the treatment of blepharospasm and cervical dystonia proven in pivotal clinical trials
In blepharospasm: In the ITT population, the difference between the XEOMIN group and the placebo group in the change of the Jankovic Rating Scale (JRS) Severity subscore from baseline to Week 6 was –1.0 points (p<0.001)
In cervical dystonia: In the ITT population, the difference between the XEOMIN 120-unit group and the placebo group in the change of the Toronto Western Spasmodic Torticollis Rating Scale (TWSTRS) Total score from baseline to Week 4 was –7.5 points (p<0.001)
Dosing
The potency units for Xeomin are specific to the preparation and not interchangeable with other botulinum toxin products
The recommended initial dose of XEOMIN for the treatment of blepharospasm is the same dose as the patient’s previous dose of Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA)
The recommended initial dose of XEOMIN for cervical dystonia is 120 units
